Lemon, I take your point that you did not know that he was 16 and that he had lied. I know many other younger underage guys who do that on online forums. But now that you know his real age, stay away from sex with him.
But let me also give you another bit of advice, albeit unsolicited. When I say 'stay away from sex with him', I do not at all mean, 'stay away from him'. Young gay guys need the support and friendship of other mature gay guys. You say this guy is caring and loving and sensitive. These are good traits but these traits can be very easily disabused in a younger person when faced with the harsher realities of real life (something like your police interlude), or when faced with exploitative adults. Tell him why you are staying away from sex with him, the importance of not having sex with an underage person, but do so lovingly, friendly, and sensitively. You may even promise him a wow sex on his 18th birthday as a birthday gift, provided he agrees toi wait that long without lying and seducing other adults. And, given the fact that this loving sensitive guy is at this melleable age, if you can sensibly hold his hands now and guide him through this phase with friendship and love and support, in the long run there is every possibility that your mutual relationship will develop into something wonderful..
