Aw, c'mon. The GB-100 can't be the first hi-tech paperweights you've
bought. I've accumulated a computer room full of such things. From
HP Laserjets to a DG AVIION mini-computer; Fiber muxes, HP Draftmaster
Pen Plotters, and several Pentium 133 MHz PC's.

All these things did the job for a while, but although many of them still
operate as advertised, they are no longer up to the job. As I'm sure you
know, that is the nature of the world we work in. Everything has a life-
span. Granted, some are longer than others, but realistically you rarely
know in advance.

I once bought a newly introduced SuperStack 3 RAS Server from 3-COM. It
was discontinued within 90 days of delivery. I'm still using it, but...

In the end I figure it could be worse - I much prefer a paperweight like
the GB-100 to a boat anchor like the AVIION (the size of a refrigerator).

And that's my $.02.

The gb1000 is the way to go if you need an enterprise firewall and
will take advantage of high availability. If you don't need those
features there is no doubt the gbflash is the way to go. Just my .02

GB100 is still a viable firewall, however, it can be used as a little
computer too if you don't want to use it as a firewall anymore. Take
advantage of the gb100 to gb1000 promo?
