Group,

This is only loosely Gnatbox, but employs some aspects so I thought I
could ask - there has been useful information posted on the list
before on many 'coupled' subjects......so here goes.

Before I start, I have to say that I don't like this, but I am left
with what looks pretty much little choice, so any useful input
welcomed.

Main site secured by GB1000's.....use VPN Client on laptops for
'roadwarriors'.

We have a partnership with a company that has offices in another
location and the above are using this as a tactical base for the
operation in that part of the UK. The building is shared with other
companies.

They will not allow us to use their LAN (understandable) and as our
guys are moved around within their open plan office space, cabling is
a no-go. The CEO want's wireless which I am opposed to until better
security is in place from Wireless technology [anyone for WPA?], but
the pressure is on now and I am bound to try and find a solution.

The idea is that they would still use the mobile VPN on a per Laptop
(Windows XP BTW) basis from remote <---> LAN facilities, and whilst in
the remote location use a Wireless Access Point +/- Router to do the
Internet connectivity (as opposed to dial-up which is torturous).
Simple enough in principle as it mimics what is commonly used for home
networks in many instances.....but for a corporate......

What I am really hoping for is whether any of you guys out there have
used any setup like this and if so, can anyone recommend any Wireless
products that are as tight in the security sense as can currently be
deployed???
