Hi Thanks to everyone for responding the issue.
Thus if we want to deploy many mobile users we have to look for third party solution for instance Netswitcher as mentioned by Mark. Paul is there any issue once we hard corded wins or dns server address for the mobile users and if these mobile users are connecting to GNAT VPN through other cooperate environment office where they will be using their office DHCP to obtain IP address. Once again many thanks Hussain -----Original Message----- From: Paul Johnson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, December 13, 2003 5:25 AM To: Hussain Lakhani; '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [gb-users] Issue resolving computer name to IP through VPN Hussain, I think the step that you are missing is on the client, not the firewall. Sounds like you have the FW config ok, you need to go into the properties of the client's network adapter and hard code the WINS or DNS server addresses for your PRO network. Paul Paul R. Further to previous email, let me give you some more info on the problem. The problem currently we are facing is with the Mobile VPN client users. On the Firewall we are using Default Mobile VPN Object and the security policy is been setup as per instruction for Default Mobile VPN Object. As mentioned earlier we only have Basic DNS configured on the Firewall. i.e. (Enable external name server = ISP, enable internal name server =win2k machine, enable DNS proxy = Protected Network). On the Internal Network (Protected) we have Windows 2000 domain with DNS/WINS enabled on Windows 2000 Server. Resolving external name we use DNS service provided by ISP. There are no issues with the internal users. Only issue we are having is with the mobile VPN users not able to use computer name when they are accessing internal network from outside using Gnat VPN Client. It works fine using IP address. Under Service DNS Server is not enabled. Any adv on the configuration??? Thanks, Hussain -----Original Message----- From: Michael W.
