Have you used the console admin facilities to PING etc ... try both directions (to the internet and to the protected net). As I recall (not at my machine), Alt-F1/ALt-F2 to select the log or console login. As I recall, I found a boot log, if you can't find such a beast, watch the boot carefully for errors related to your ethernet adapters ... it sounds like a hardware failure or incompatiblity with the latest GB version. Can you revert to the previous running version and confirm the hardware still works? Also, have you tried connecting to the GB from the protected network ...
