It hopefully handles most of the cases (conditional branches, floating point branches, etc) but there are still some that aren't handled yet. It applies to 4.2.0 and builds without regressions, but that's hardly a satisfactory test since building GCC doesn't trigger any long branches. So, if feedback can be provided, it would be appreciated. This change should also address PR 10274.
