this was caused by
2007-02-03 Bruce Korb <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* inclhack.def (glibc_c99_inline_4): replace "extern" only if
surrounded by space characters.
As this blocks a good deal of gfortran development right now,
would it be appropriate to reverse this patch?
