I believe that this bug also applies to powerpc-apple-darwin8 and i686-apple-darwin9. the suggested remedy also works. This was introduced between 148251 and 151057 (OK a big gap .. but) during which time I didn't update GMP - so the change is at least in part down to gcc build process changing. if it's any clue /lib/cpp is not a fallback compiler install location for Darwin - which perhaps implies that the build process has lost its idea of the target. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=40950
