What's your timescale for this if you were to do it? If it's likely to take a few days, should we maybe commit something roughly like the patch from comment 11 as a band-aid to get trunk building again and have you remove it again as part of the subsequent patch to handle strings? -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=41404
