What's the status of this on the 6 branch and mainline? IIUC the doc change
for CANNOT_CHANGE_MODE_CLASS is still there and the aarch64 port implements it,
but not the x86-64 port? Should the doc change be reverted too, as well as the
aarch64 change as suggested by Richard S. in comment 43?
