what version of binutils do you have?
I am very surprised that this has not shown up as an issue before - since
gfortran has been using nested functions for ages ..
I'm now wondering if the default warnings have changed in binutils ld (since I
did not see the issue with :
$ ld --version
GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Debian) 2.35.2
... on cfarm186)
