Benjamin,

Ticket #2928 was fixed for 1.6.1 release. Are the compilation problems you mention still current with latest SVN trunk ? If so, you should consider open a new ticket and mention the exact error log you get from the compiler. But this is a bit surprising as one of our slavebots is a x64 Windows that uses SWIG 1.3.39 and it can compile the Java bindings. See szekerest-vc90x64-full slavebot on http://buildbot.osgeo.org:8500/waterfall

Best regards,

Even

1.3.39 produces code that does not compile on x64 Windows (at least with MSVC). See: http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/ticket/2928. The ticket mentions c# bindings but the same is true for the Java bindings. Rolling back to 1.3.38 fixes the problem.

Subject: Re: [gdal-dev] SWIG Version

I've been using SWIG 1.3.39 for Java bindings for a few months now, and
it's working fine.

Frank Warmerdam a écrit :
Folks - particularly swig bindings maintainers,

I have regenerated the swig bindings for python with swig 1.3.39 on
www.gdal.org and committed them. I used that version to be
compatible
with what Even used last time. However, the scripts that building
the perl and csharp bindings for the nightly snapshots are still
using
SWIG 1.3.36.

Before GDAL 1.7 release, I'd like us to settle on a preferred version
of
SWIG and I will update this to be the one used for the nightly
snapshots
and that we would use at other times for building source
distributions.
Is SWIG 1.3.39 acceptable for all bindings maintainers?

PS. SWIG 1.3.39 is built and installed in ~warmerdam/gdal-swig on
www.gdal.org (aka xblade14). SWIG 1.3.36 is in /usr/local/bin.

Best regards,
