Folks, I have prepared a release candidate for GDAL/OGR 1.8.0. The source, testsuite and documentation can be found at:

Note that as part of the 1.8.0 release candidate process I have established a GDAL/OGR 1.8 stable branch, and tagged the source used for the release candidate as 1.8.0: http://svn.osgeo.org/gdal/branches/1.8 http://svn.osgeo.org/gdal/tags/1.8.0 Any bug fixes intended for 1.8.x releases, including a possible 1.8.0RC2 need to be ported into the 1.8 stable branch starting now.
