Greg, Your KML file is invalid. The format for <coordinates> content must be "X1,Y1,Z1 X2,Y2,Z2...". Here the space between triplets is replaced with a comma, which confuses the KML reader. The LIBKML driver is a bit more tolerant and successfully reads the file.
