It's not RStudio or sf specific though, I think it's worth asking here because there are many many R packages using GDAL and they essentially share the same simple installation, after the GDAL version choice has been made. What really matters is your operating system and the method you have available for installing GDAL itself. On windows and macos you get the versions built by CRAN itself, on Linux you get the version supported by your distro. sf repo isn't a general place to get support so I wouldn't encourage asking there, I'm happy to help point to options if you share details of your compute setup Cheers, Mike On Tue, 29 Oct 2024, 03:16 Abel Pau via gdal-dev, <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: Ok Even. The latest version of the "sf" library is from 2022-23 (version 18), and we’re unsure if it updates frequently or if it needs to be manually compiled. We would be interested in having one of the more recent versions from the last few months (such as 3.9 or 3.10, for example). Could you please explain a bit, if you know, the method for updating GDAL within RStudio (or other R softwares)? Thank you very much.
