I was delayed in responding because my ISP went down...for 2 days!
I'm going to supplement by mixing 4 parts mineral O to 1 part mineral I,
increasing to 4:2 once I see breeding behavior. I will also have 2 24" UVB
bulbs on a 12 hour photoperiod for the spring and summer, and a 9 hour
photoperiod for the winter.
Does this seem sufficient?
For these questions I assume information about U.henkeli can translate over
to U.fimbriatus.
How frequently do you supplement during the off season? Weekly?
Do you keep your animals together year round? Separate the gravid females?
I also have a question about R.leachianus:
My pair don't have any interest in insects, and only minimal interest in
fruit (which they never consume during the daytime), but eat pinkies at any
time of day, with extreme vigor.
Is this normal behavior? I'm worried about feeding them pinkies too
frequently, but they seem spoiled and want nothing else.
Is it safe to feed them pinkies as a staple of their diet (I won't stop
offering fruit, but want to offer pinkies more often)?
Thanks in advance for the insight,
