Hi All,
This is my 4th year breeding leos & I have had a
number of successful hatches each year. Eggs that
did not hatch proved to be unfertilized.
This year I have had a number of eggs where, at some
point, the animal stopped developing & expired.
Over the weekend another baby (the 5th this year)hatched
but there is a problem with its eyes. It is difficult to
tell exactly what that problem is, tho. It could be that there
are no eyes or that the eyes are micropthalmic or it
could be a deformity of the eyelids.
Has anyone else had a problem with hatchlings possibly
being born blind? If so, what did you do? Did the animal
live? Was it necessary to hand-feed it or did it
eventually learn to catch food on its own? Might it be best
to euthanize?
BTW - my incubation techniques have not changed.
Any advice on how to proceed would be most appreciated.

Audrey
