Glad to read you are also with UPS. Seems I'm not the only person whom PEOPLE should take interest in;-) The geckos were, in fact, not fixed at all. On the other hand the whole wading pool was awash with them. There were over 40 animals within 18 inches of me. Several were escaping to the uncomfortable hides of my clothing. Even in the photo you can see a Hemidactylus tanganicus going inside of my hat. There was an Oedura marmorata underneath my neck. Animals were everywhere. Simultaneously, I could feel animals creeping up my pant-legs (not sure which species). Animals were flying around, and arms were flailing all over the place in a raucous effort to make the circus photo-worthy. I was definitely concerned for the safety of some of these creatures, because animals like N. amyae and Chondrodactylus will nail you, or anything else in their path, when stressed. That should help explain the worried look on my face. The question was asked how it was that People magazine discovered me. The answer is primarily from UPS, as our company recently did an article on me for the company magazine. Apparently, People somehow obtained a copy, and contacted me directly. They subsequently found interest in the GGA website, as several of my photos appear there (perhaps they did an internet search for my name to see if I was really keeping geckos?). There was even verbal mention to me during a phone conversation with a lady at People about mention of the GGA website. Unfortunately, especially for my busy schedule, some major broadcast shows and late shows are taking interest in this as well. What next??? If there are any geckologists out there who have time to appear on these shows for me - please come forward - as I'm not sure how much of this my shedule can continue to handle!
