As far as I know they're 'pure' ciliatus. A few years ago I was on a discussion 
list where the
blue-eyed cresties came up. At that time it was mentioned they do happen, but 
not often. There was
no mention of them being crosses. I have seen several pictures of blue-eyed 
cresties, and know
several people who have one, even heard of a breeder who supposedly gets quite 
a few of them, but
I've never seen one up close and personal myself. 

The pictures I've seen show fantastic looking cresties - the blue eyes are 
unforgettable.
