It's minimalistic because the original purpose of the VPI support
was (is) a hook for the bundled system tasks. Thus, enough to support
those tasks has been implemented. Since then, bits and pieces have
been added as people expressed interest. I expect that it will always
be a little spartan compared to a full commercial VPI implementation,
but that doesn't mean it can't improve to suit your needs.
