I've looked at PoE before. I need an AC reference signal anyway, I'll just use that. I mean... The last 4:1 hub I bought was under $10, IIRC from > Walmart. Plus a bootloader in the uC in case you need to re-flash that. The R8C has a built-in bootloader that uses a serial port and two control pins (mode and reset). I use an FTDI usb to serial chip to interface to that.
