Or a symbol with a name which goes something like: "resistor-4pcb.sym" "resistor-4pcb-1.sym" drawn in Imperial style. "resistor-4pcb-2.sym" drawn in European style. "resistor-4pcb-zerolengthpins-1.sym" drawn in Imperial style, with zero length pins. "resistor-4pcb-zerolengthpins-2.sym" drawn in European style, with zero length pins. The possibilites are endless as gschem offers great flexibility ;-) IMHO Users should take care of the needed "content" for thier own purposes, the gEDA suite itself only has to offer a basic set of symbols/footprints to get users started, and encourage sharing "content" on gedasymbols.org.
