When I try to edit an unwritable file in an unwritable directory in the
GIMP, I get

Change checked: destination dir is
readonly: /home/pj/images/1987/nz-second/dsc_1792.jpg
-> /home/pj/images/1987/nz-second/dsc_1792.jpg

and a warning dialog. Upon clicking "cancel" I get the same message
again, and a "Run Editor?" dialog with "This will copy the following
files" and a list of sidecars. The following messages appear (yes, the
directory checking occurs a second time):

Change checked: destination dir is
readonly: /home/pj/images/1987/nz-second/dsc_1792.jpg
-> /home/pj/images/1987/nz-second/dsc_1792.jpg

If I click "cancel" I am returned to Geeqie. If I click "OK" I am
returned to the first dialog again.
