the suggestion about liba52 was really only about the compilation issue.
ok.
but it did not help for the compilation (i still have to "make" 2 times).
i'm currently trying to find out what is causing the crash (which i can
reproduce on puredyne and other ubuntu systems)
i'll report back when i found a solution on that...
