EITHER
libavifile-0.7-dev should depend on libdts-dev, libsdl1.2-dev &
liba52-*-dev
OR
libavifile should provide files that do not claim to need one of the
above libraries ("avifile-config --libs" tells the linker to link
against libdts; /usr/lib/libaviplay.la lists liba52.la and libSDL.la as
linking dependencies)
in reality, you would not need libSDL-dev and liba52-dev and libdts-dev
to link a binary against libaviplay.
it's only the helpers (pkgconfig, libtool) that are convinced that these
libs are needed, and will refuse to link.
however, it's the idea of these helpers to allow correct linking.
so either the helpers have to be fixed or their dependencies fullfilled.
