I add pdgst so as to load it at startup and everything is working fine now

this only makes sure that you have alraedy checked out the correct version.
it doesn't check for any local modification or additions. check with
$ svn state
as well.
I'll try to restart from the beginning with a fresh copy of the svn and
will let you know
one thing i noticed is, that you should explicitely load the "pdgst"
library, prior to loading a patch.
(there is no such thing as [declare] in the example patches.
