Good idea, Choppy. There are lots of utilities for
rescue and recovery for Linux. I use "Tom's Root/Boot"
disk, very small, very nice (http://www.toms.net/rb/).
You may also want to look at "System->Recovery Tools"
on freshmeat.net (http://freshmeat.net/browse/866/).

I think a good future topic would be backup systems
and recovery using Linux.
