John,
Thanks for the heads-up on the website.
It seems that I will have my choice of applications, whether viewing DVD's
or the Hauppage card, etc.
Do you have any suggestions for good apps to browse the Usenet Groups
(Newsgroups)?
I purchased Forte' Agent for my Windows machine and like it a lot.

BTW, if anyone tells you that Windows XP does not have Blue Screens of Death
(BSoD) then take it with a grain of salt. Granted a true BSoD is a blue
screen covered in useful info on what was happening with the computer when
it hung and I have not experienced that exact thing per se'. However, I did
get a blue screen when my pc locked up tonight on me....while I was running
XP to burn some CD's. Hopefully, by the end of the week I won't have to
boot into XP to do that any longer.
I just going to make a list of the things I need and the things I want as
far as software is concerned. I'll keep both around until I have installed
and configured everything and also to the point where I don't feel
completely lost.

I'm going to check out the website you suggested. What I am hoping for is
some website that will provide a list of applications and then a flowchart
that states what apps require what other apps/services/libraries. I'm not
certain of this but when I install something with the package manager and do
a test and list the dependancies.......I can get a list of serveral things
that it needs....but it does not tell me if there is a specific order in
which to install them.....ie. one of the items in the dependancy list may
require that another item must be installed as one of its own
dependancies.......was that as hard to follow as it was to write? <G>
