To address your question, John B., yes, M$ Windows
does suck. But why? Dustin has made a good argument
that open source software can be equally buggy, and
can be even more so.

But here is the difference: we pay $$$ for M$
software, and commercial software EULAs give us no
rights or recourse for buggy software. Open source
software is free, and if it is buggy, we have all the
rights to fix those bugs.

Sure, Linux/UNIX/etc geeks tend to harp that M$
Windows is buggy and crashes, BSODs, etc. but the
truth is that Linux has bugs too. Granted, most of
those bugs do not bring the entire machine down, but
let's be generous and say that all software has bugs.
If so, then open source software is preferable,
exactly because it is open.
