Folks... I'm not a senior, gray, venerable old computer guy who makes modem noises when he opens his mouth and remembers when "the internet" really did fit on a floppy. Nonetheless, I recall that Mosaic was "the" original browser. If my memory serves correctly and broadly enough, it was the first major browser, period. EVERY browser is derivative of Mosaic. I don't think this is anything big enough to make a [ Microsoft <-> Open Source ] argument out of.
