Okay, as the Big Ping Pong in the Sky for BRLUG, I want to make a statement about the responses I've been seeing as people reply to posts.
If people disagree with you in this forum, or any forum, don't assume anyone is upset or there is any "rancor." The people are just responding, and they probably aren't upset. For example, in this thread, there were some replies about what is and is not a script kiddie, and the general feeling for how to best learn about security. I didn't see any personal attacks, upset people, or problems in general. Any newbies to this list need to especially take note. If someone disagrees with you don't take it hard. People just disagree. It's nothing personal. Just imagine that you are sitting down with these people, having some coffee, and taking part in a discussion. Would you get upset if they disagreed with you? Hopefully not.
