Agreed... what I'd like to do is put up a solar panel connected to a 
battery.  It would charge the battery enough during the day to run the 
cable/dsl modem and linksys router all night.

It would be practical, and a neat experiment in solar energy (which is 
something i've wanted to do).  Anyone think it could be done for around 
$100?  If so, send us some links!
