The problem is that it is "supported", meaning that there is an option in
the configuration that it completely ignores...

I have been doing some packet captures and ahve been seeing some very odd
crosstalk over the interfaces, ie:
while running wireshark on interface a, i see a few packets sent from the
ipaddr on interface 2 to a foreign ipaddr.  I have no idea why I am seeing
this...
