Our 8 Mbit/s fiber with Centurylink is $299/mo. Well worth it. We do all of our
Internet stuffy-stuff and we also run our VOIP phones over it.

Subject: Re: [brlug-general] Phone service in Baton Rouge

I called CenturyLink and left a message. We're a small company and in the
Millerville area so DSL tops out at 1.5Mb/300k (we currently have a DSL
connection via AT&T) - we were told that AT&T were going to lay fibre to this
area but right now they are digging up the road and putting copper in so I
don't think that's going to change soon. Getting 2 or 3 DSL lines is an option
and may be cheaper than going with Cox.

The office@hand looks interesting - it's the first time that I've seen in on
the AT&T site. Thanks, I'll investigate.

We're dealing with AT&T via their 800 number - a real pain in the butt. The
AT&T stores only seem to be interested on wireless sales these days, if you ask
about a land line then they just say that they'll have someone call you.
Calling the AT&T support phone is just horrible - given my experience dealing
with AT&T, I'd be happy to pay a premium just to avoid them. Which is silly,
I've used AT&T for years and used to love them but it seems that every year
they get more expensive and harder to deal with.
