Java frontent (jwd) had been decommitted serveral years ago from J701. You need to use J602 if you want to continue to use jwd.
I guess you can use options -d32 and -d64 to force java to run as a 32 or 64 bit program. jhs does not invole java either, and itself shows no visible output to users.
