Thanks for all the clarifications, but I am a bit dense...
It sounds like the wicket.* -> org.apache.wicket.* change is to happen in 1.3
from the pointers you gave, yet the "alpha" is not there yet. Is that
correctly understood? And some weeks down the line we can expect to see a
release of 1.3 with that change? I agree that it is not a showstopper in the
short term.
Looking thru the source release;
The licenses/ contains a log4j-license.txt, but it seems that 1.2.13 of log4j
is used, and that must have been released under Apache License v2.0. I think
that the license file should be dropped.

Other than that, _I_ can't find anything else in the source dist. I don't have
