I'm just verifying that I understood the report correctly. We're providing a summary of the overall status of the Incubator in our report to the board, and for that I need a rough indication of where each podling stands in terms of progress towards graduation. The intention is certainly not interfere with the work mentors are doing as long as everything's fine, just to verify that everything indeed is fine. > FWIW, this shepherd thing is starting to feel like [duplicative] > middle-management. Unfortunately with lots of absent mentors and podlings that were stuck in a limbo, there was a clear need to do something about the situation. That's why there's recently been a concentrated effort to review podling reports and status in much more detail and provide feedback where needed. Once we have such problems covered, we may well be able to fall back to a more passive mode of operation. In this case I just wanted to confirm that my understanding of the project status based on the report and other available information was correct. It seems like the mentors and the project in general are doing all the right things, so I see no need to interfere further. Apologies if my message implied otherwise.
