No it's not. It's impossible. :-) However, as empty directories will not show up when checked out (unless explicitly requested), this is not a big problem. However, removing old directories from the CVS server will destroy the history of the files that once have been in this directory. As this is only a problem with the CVS browser, do you really consider removing the directories necessary?
