I took your advice and turned it off and now everything is back to normal.
As you guessed, I'm trying to learn development on Linux and I think its better this way at least until I learn more about this great platform.
One more question though, I rebooted the machine after editing the file :( I know, but its hard to get rid of this nasty habit, what could I have done to make it work without rebooting, is there a certain process to stop or a command to reboot the service (if any) ?
Thank you very much for your help.

I would turn off SELinux (/etc/selinux/config), especially that
-apparently- this is a dev machine. An alternative would be to dig
into modifying SELinux policies. At least with the first solution you
can confirm the theory that SELinux is the cause of the error (which I
find plausible).

I know I should take this to the NetBeans forums but I googled about it first and all I got was similer problems but with other applications. They say that its an SELinux problem regarding running shared libraries and suggested the use of chcon Which I'm not sure what does it do exactly.
