I ran across and interesting study in economics out of the University of Minnesota. (Note: a college campus in a blue state.) It opines that the reason that europeans have so much vacation time and shorter work weeks is not cultural or societal, but because they are overtaxed. In short, there are financial disincentives to making marginally more money. Have fun.
