Actually, the disease varies from extremely debilitating to moderately
annoying. In my case, I have moderately painful joints from time to
time and I have to see an ophthalmologist a couple of times per year.
Many AS sufferers have joints (the neck in particular) that are
completely fused, but I am lucky in that respect.
