I do not recall what was in the specs back then but now look a lot like Pax Web. Pax Web was even mentioned in the specs. http://adreghiciu.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/ops4j-pax-web-ahead-of-its-time/ I actually wanted at some moment to implement the specs but I stopped as not enough time + already the "big guys" are on implementing the specs. Some based on Tomcat and some on Grizzly. I do not follow this closely but I would say that they will have a hard time to have the new service implementation also work as an Http Service, but I might be wrong. I actually even wonder why the Webtide guys do not implement the spec by themselves.
Anyhow, anyone welcome to contribute.
