edit /etc/ld.so.conf and add /usr/local/mysql/lib to it
[don't forgfet to run /sbin/ldconfig]
or export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/mysql/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
or similar.
