I find the perceived GPL incompatibility issues very confusing. Because patent protection didn't seem particularly pertinent to vobject, I chose Apache 1.1 for it. I have no objection to Apache 2.0, I agree it would be nice to have consistency, as long as no one ends up with the impression they they can't use it in their GPL project.
