Good day,

We have downloaded a copy of the refGene and gbStatus database tables to
provide a service for users of our LSDB software to map variants to the
genome using a NM reference sequence.

However, the refGene table only stores the accession number without the
version attached, while the gbStatus table stores both, but only stores
some data on the record itself. Thus, when a user of our software is
using an older version of the NM reference sequence, we can't be sure
about the mapping of the variants to the genome. And I don't know what
will happen with new versions of reference sequences.

I'm assuming newer versions of NM reference sequences will be mapped
when they are released, and the results will overwrite the older data -
is this correct?

If this is true, can we get previous versions of these tables somewhere
so we can take that data and design our own table format which does
include the version numbers?

Or do you suggest any other way around this problem?

Thank you for your time,
