You have indeed uncovered a bug that needs fixing.

It took a while to set up the exact conditions
to get the stack dump for analysis, but I can see
exactly where and how the problem occurs.

Creating the solution might take a day or two to work out.
One simple workaround might be to just comment
out the line that removes a custom track bed file
in the trash dir when it traps an errAbort, since this is too
harsh.

We shall tolerate temporary network outages better.
I should have more tomorrow afternoon on this.
