Hello,

Please forward this to the appropriate people.

We are in the midst of preparing a genome paper for 50+ Drosophila melanogaster
genomes sequenced using solexa technology. Our eventual hope is that some of
this could be
used as supplementary material for the paper, along with a custom population
genomics update to the ensembl browser we are collaborating with Ewan Birney on
(see links below).

We have started a small number of sessions for viewing primary data and derived
statistics from this project.
For the most part we are happy with the interface, but are having some problems
uploading data.

One of the data items we would really like to upload to our custom session is
the location of the mapped reads. Unfortunately we get a timeout when
uploading a whole genome. While uploading individual chromosomes has been
possible, it is too much data to do manually for all 300 chromosomes.

These are currently in compressed BedGraph format, which is smaller than BAM.
Each genome is ~ 100M compressed.

Do you have any advise on uploading this data into the browser?

Thanks.

Kristian Stevens and Chuck Langley
