Hi Daniel,

I have just been reminded by my colleagues that the automatic dumps of the
database to the download files are weekly, rather than daily. Thus, ensGene.txt
will not be available until Sunday. However, if you email me your assembly of
interest, I can make the download file available by Tuesday.

Best,
Mary

Hi Daniel,

You can obtain the Ensembl Genes release version number by clicking on a gene
in the Ensembl Genes track or in our release log
(http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/releaseLog.html) for your assembly of
interest. We try to release the Ensembl Genes track soon after Ensembl updates
their gene set.

We hope to release the latest version of Ensembl Genes (v59) by the end of the
day on Monday; the download files, including ensGene.txt, should be updated by
Tuesday morning. If you need this file sooner, please let us know.

I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact the mail list
if you require further assistance.

Best,
Mary

Hi,

I was wondering when the Ensembl Genes will be updated to the latest version?
Currently, UCSC GB does not state which version of EnsEMBL is used, but it says
that it's updated last in may 2010. What is the release schedule when new
EnsEMBL versions are released?

I am specifically interested in the file ensGene.txt. If possible, I could
generate this myself for example for the GTF file that EnsEMBL release on their
web site. Do you have custom scripts for this, and/or would it be possible for
you to that this scripts?

Thanks a lot

Daniel Klevebring
