The genome assembly is done by the Genome Reference Consortium:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/projects/genome/assembly/grc/

Their statistics page for the GRCh37/hg19 genome is here:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/projects/genome/assembly/grc/human/data/?build=37

You can also use that page to compare the current build statistics to 
previous builds (NCBI36/hg18 and NCBI35/hg17).

If you have further questions about the reference genome assemblies, I 
suggest contacting the GRC directly.
