FYI,

If other people report byte-range request problems with Apache 2, ours was
caused by a bug introduced when fixing the recent DoS security vulnerability in
Apache 2. We were using Debian package 2.2.16-6+squeeze2 and upgrading to
2.2.16-6+squeeze3 which fixes this newly introduced bug appears to have solved
our problem.
